Aberfan Visit, April 2018
I was fortunate to be guided around the sites and memorials of Aberfan by a friend who had been at Junior School higher up the valley on the day in October 1966 when disaster had struck the village.
A spoil heap made unstable by a number of factors slid down the hill and obliterated the local school, killing 116 children and a further 28 adults. A place of active and living remembrance
